XD Anyway, the $NZ-Yen rate is a hell of a lot kinder than the $NZ-$US (try times 3 and then add on postage/shipping/handling, also times three...OTOH, I'm probably willing to pay $300 for Daisuke - hostage takers, take note! ROFL) My other trouble is that I'm completely useless at searching Ebay. I occasionally look for X chara file CDs there, & tend to get lots of info on Humphrey Bogart-shaped vases instead^^;;; LOL

It was just seeing the Watership Down movie age 8 and reading the book age 11 really really freaked me out at times. I can't listen to 'Bright Eyes' EVER. *brrrrrs* Plague Dogs was good, though, & maybe I should re-read Watership Down again now that I'm not so little. ^_^

Ah, I'm not fond of change either. Whenever there was a new Doctor or companion I used to be highly sceptical. :P My main reason for liking the new Tommorow People was the line "I'm in love with mosquitoes". *grins* That was classic!!
But I must admit when it comes to telefantasy, the Brits do it best. Especially those wonderful old 80's shows with lots of CSO stuff. Okay Richard Adams is an excelent author, & I went on to read his book 'Plague Dogs' which was brilliant (sort of depressing, but with a happy ending). But still!! Bunnies are evil! *brrrrs*

Hmmm, Peter Davison was my first Doctor (I was 8), so his adventures have a special significance to me. He was very charming, & I liked his air of innocence. Such a nice smile! ^_____^ Tegan & Nyssa were great together.
However, Tom Baker had, like, giant balls of string which he claimed to have used when he was in the Labyrinth, & other random things that made me laugh. He da man! =D

Voices could probably work for Kamui...or maybe one of the girls? Arashi? Karen? Macross Plus has an amazing soundtrack. ^_^ Yoko Kanno also wrote music for Please Save My Earth, Cowboy Bebop, and the character files for Subaru & Kamui.
Myung was sweet, I thought, & really beautiful. Not too perky, & not too angsty either. With great fashion sense.

For the record, I like being a rabid Keiichi fan too! ;p Can't wait to see the revamped shrine! *bounce bounce*
When I was 15, I discovered Robotech & basically lived with those characters in my head for three or four years. Then Sailor Moon came on TV when I was 19 (maybe 20), so I totally got addicted - to the extent that I used to do the "I am Sailor Moon, champion of justice! I will right wrongs and triumph over evil" (etc etc) thing. Heh. I liked Ranma, but it doesn't quite have the crack-headed & loopy charm of SM.
Robotech's still the one anime show that I can look back on & get chills down my spine. I found it profoundly affecting (cried BUCKETS at the end of the Macross saga), not to mention the anti-war theme was bang on.

Just to make your illustration of Cinder-Daisuke as difficult as possible, I should point out that Sei-chan is an old ham, so him playing Widow Twanky is a lethal combination. He'd never get off the stage, & would most likely be in the background doing the tango with Fairygodmother!Keiichi (with the wand between his teeth, of course). They'd upstage the whole thing. Meanwhile I thought of the perfect Prince Charming (since this has gone pantomime): Karen. So Aoki gets to play her lacky. ^__^

Spring has sprung!

Was in the countryside yestrday & saw lots of calves and lambs & foals. Then went to see boiling mud, which goes "gloop gloop". Heh. =) Walking on a boardwalk over a thermal lake with the steam blowing around in great banks is very romantic.

I'm glad you liked the fanart...it didn't turn out at all as I'd imagined in my head^^;;; But hey, smootchies is smootchies after all. ^_~ Oh! Those clothes are supposed to be the ones they were wearing on the back of X 7 & X 14 (yellow/red *nods*).

Um, I thought it was obvious that Kamui's rather f***ed up. That whole Kamui/"Kamui" thing (like the Hinoto/"Hinoto" thing) just doesn't exactly seem mentally stable. And Fuuma does deserve more credit for carrying the plot. I have a weird suspicion that if there were more Kam/Fuu supporters, Fuuma would get more recognition.
As for Arashi, she can do or say whatever she wants cos she's HOT. Yeah, she's just HOT ( -- this is my amazingly insightful & well-argued point, BTW. XD) She can even sit in the gutter & poke berries up her nose. As long as she keeps intermittantly flashing her thighs, it's all good. ^_- Not a lot of people can look cool while sitting in the gutter poking berries up their nose, but Arashi is one of those rare few.
I'll give you Keiichi fanart too!! It's just that the combination of Keii-chan & lollipops is giving me naughty ideas - bad Ammie! *self-thwap* LOL

I once read a review of 'Into the Woods' years ago, & it said that the first half was funny whereas the scond half is much darker...so I immediately decided it sounds exactly my cup of tea. Anyhow, if it has Wolf & Red in it, I'm so there. I've seen that the DVD version is out in the shops, so I'll definitely have to snag it as an early Xmas pressie for myself. Even if it's no substitute for a live performance, at least it's something. ^_^

Yeah, Daisuke needs more colour pics cos he's really cute. There's never been any colour manga pics of him - but some great doujinshi covers almost make up for it. And there was that gorgeous pic of Souhi & Hien, so who knows, maybe every dog will get its day after all. ^_~ In the anime Dai-kun's adorable (that nose was perfect) but I actually prefer his manga-looks as they have a sort of endearing gawkiness. ^____^

My search for Kusanagi shrines has proved fruitless (Satsy-chan, what happened to 'Memories of Green'? ;_;). This is a real shame, since Kusanagi's a fascinating character who deserves lots of shrines.
My main reason for liking him is kinda embarassing, but here goes; when I was a little kid I used to be a tree-hugger. As in, I used to literally hug trees. I liked the feel of the bark, & to watch the insects which lived in the bark. All really alien forms of life, yet clearly alive & intreguing. My favourite trees were the Oaks at my primary (read: elementary) school - because they had acorns. ^__^
Sometimes my friends and I used to play a game where we talked to the trees & pretended that they could talk back to us.
So I can sympathise with Kusa's dillema; yes it's wrong to kill human beings, but the plants & animals are his friends too, & they have a right to live just as much as anyone.
And to the usual claims he's an old unattractive pervert hitting on Yuzuriha: (a) Kusa ain't THAT old, being a junior in the Japanese defense force & looking all of 25 at the most, (b) arrrrrrrrrrr, I'm so sick of anyone who's not a bishonen with girly-face and the body of an 11-year-old being called ugly! Kusa is a man and LOOKS like a man, get over it! (c) Yeah sure, it's sooooooo perverted to make friends with someone & say you want to get to know them better^^;;; (d) she's hitting on him & not the other way round.
As for the dog: I get the feeling that Yuzu-chan just LIKES Kusa straight away, regardless of Inuki's approval. Fortunately, Inuki does seem to approve.
As for those eyebrows: I'm sure a lot more people would see Kusa as gorgeous if it wasn't for his impressively prominent eyebrows. However, I like them! I think features like that add a lot to a character, especially a character who inhabits a universe where 98% of people have long beautiful eyelashes & perfect straight noses. What's wrong with being different?

BTW, Satsy, I like that bedtime story ^_~. Reinvented fairytales are so much fun. Incidently, I was reading a book on folklore the other week which freaked me out!!!! 'The Girl with Silver Hands' where she has her hands chopped off & 'The Juniper Tree' where a young boy is murdered by his stepmother and made into stew both gave me nightmares! *trembles* Scary, scary stuff. My fave is still Little Red Riding-Hood ^___^...I love wolves. Ooooh! Some juicy gossip on The Frog Prince! When he is thrown against the wall only to transform back into human form, he falls into the princess's bed, and get this: she joins him there WITH HASTE! ROFL!!!!

The 1996 DW movie is well worth seeing; wobbly plot, but McGann is brilliant! Annoyingly enough, I believe it was BBC re-shuffles which led to Doctor Who ending - nothing to do with the DW staff, who were all set to do more. And just when Sylvester was getting into his stride. ;_;
I'd really like to find "Under the Mountain" too. There were a whole bunch of great NZ children's shows which are now impossible to find: The Haunting, Aliens in the Family, Strangers ( - all scripted by Margaret Mahy *worships*), Children of the Dog Star, Night of the Red Hunter...*sighs*

You're right that TB is the Real S/S story, and X just the end thereof. A very satisfying end too, I might add. Dear old T.Y.O is worth reading anyway, even without the wonderful S/S stuff - my personal favourite bits are usually Sei/Hokuto scenes. These days, having seen it probably 30 times, the scene where Hokuto bursts into the vet clinic with a bag of food under one arm & those incredible sunglasses ("HOKUTO-CHAN HAS ARRIVED TO MAKE DINNER! OHOHOHOHOHO!") still has me on the floor. XD

Yup, as I recall the book is set in Auckland city (where my brother lives) - it really looks like that. Since it's on the Pacific Ocean's "ring of fire", i.e. a whole bunch of volcanoes. Most of 'em are underneath the ocean, & the ones on land are dormant (supposedly...^^;;;...I still remember Onni-chan pointing out his window one day saying "that's a volcano" and it was so fricking close!!!!!!! Like, only a few metres away!!!!!!! Freaky-deeky).
Now, if memory serves, it was Rangitoto island which ended up as the focal-point of the book. That place is so cool! ^____^ It does look the same on all sides, cos it's a kind of strange conical shape. Very beautiful there. Auckland has the best beaches.
'Halfmen of O' is actually three books: 'The Halfmen of O', 'The Priests of Ferris', & 'Motherstone'. I found the middle book to be kind of filler-material, but the first & last are excellent (the inhabitants of O - for example the stone people - are really really cool :D).

Nadia, you've caught me out. ;p Ok, Kei-chan wasn't hitting on Kamui, but he sure as heck WAS flirting with him. With ******SPARKLIES****** and stuff, no less. XD I thought it was cute, & funny. ^______^

Well, sort of ^_-. (Bet you never thought you'd be seeing this coming from me)

Pros:
He's generally a happy and fun person, who is not hitting on Kamui despite what the consensus of the fanbase may tell you. ^_^ He can be serious when he needs to. Most of all, he's very open & genuine while speaking simply and to-the-point. None of those unhelpful 'metaphysical blatherings' from him.

Cons:
ARGH! Kei-chan's too damn stoic! He's like Boxer the horse in Animal Farm (by George Orwell) - he'll work for years until he finally drops & They'll send him off to the knacker's yard because They have no further use for him.
Plus, he's like in another book, The Lotus Caves (by John Christopher) where this guy is in a situation described as "a grain of sand in an oyster shell"...and what happens is he gets changed into a "pearl" (or, to put it another way, he gets adapted by outside forces in order to fit in to their liking). Keiichi's like that because he's always rolling with the punches and being a good little productive citizen. *grrr grrr*
I think that he's too much the sort of person who's strong enough to keep things going, keep things from collapsing; when perhaps it would be better to just let them fall. NOT that I'm advocating the DoE cause (way too extreme), or Kei-chan to be a radical revolutionary (^^;;;)...I just think he's a little too responsible...or something. Heh.
