Um, I must admit I got a colour printout of that latest Karen pic. It's stuck on the wall next to my bed. I love the purple lipstick and eyeshadow, & her eyes are very very gold! *^^* Perhaps a tad too much mascara, though.
In any case, she looks gorgeous. I totally understand how you feel about her. I'm the same with Keiichi; always sighing & gushing over him (*laughs*Oh, I'll have to put 'The List' up sometime soon...*secretive grin*). He's like the personification of a warm fuzzy or something...all bouncy & cuddly.^^; Want to carry him about and show him off and feed him custard!! I hate to admit just how madly in love with him I am, since he's such a BABY - no, an EMBRYO, no, a PROTOPLASM in fact. Just don't let me near him, okay? Especially if there's a lingerie shop in the vicinity, XDDDD.

ali-chan, I totally get what you mean. I'm genuinely cheerful most of the time, & so not particularly inclined towards being depressed or writing about negative things. Generally, whatever I mention in my blog is just on-the-fly anyway, so reflects my mood at the time. I don't see the point of being angsty simply for the hell of it.
However, I still retain my right to be miserable! Poor unfortunates who say "have a good day" to me are usually given short shrift, I'm afraid! XD

Maria, I'm also against adultery, simply because it smacks of disrespect (to the one person you're supposed to respect the most). A/K would only work for me if he got a divorce. I DON'T want Aoki to cheat on his wife, & I DON'T want his family to be bumped off just to get him some nookie. But I still like the idea of them as a couple. *shrugs* I also like the idea of Yuuto/Karen, for that matter; because their scene in X 13 was so very cool, & because I think she could pound some manners into Yuuto! XD I like Yuuto a lot...he needs a Karen in his life.

- Made chocolate cake? Check. It was *drumroll please* a complete DISASTER!!!! *giggles* Singed it at the corners, then it broke apart when I tried to prise it out of the cake-tin. However, I s'pose the cake looking like rubble was appropriately symbolic! XD I still managed to make a rainbow on the top & lots of impressive lookin' bloodsplats! Hee hee *^^*

Bad twin, because of my horrible accent I pronounce Karen as 'Ka (rhymes with CAT) - wren' (as in the bird). But I noticed in X 13 that Seiichirou calls her Karen-san, written KAH (car) AA R(the R/L mix) N. So he'd say it 'Kaahrnn-san', sort of, because of his Japanese accent. I'd think it's actually meant to be said "Kaah-ren".
I'm glad I actually said something useful! ^_^ And very suprised...it's just that I was worried about you, so I broached the often inflamatory topic of religion. Normally I'd have steered clear since, as ali mentioned, it usually sets off flame-wars.

Sat-chan, speaking strictly for myself, no I would not be happy in a perfect world. Pre-empting the 'talent' rant, I have a gift for music which is simply innate, & a passion for art which is much stronger because I have no natural talent for it. Music is just something I can't live without - it's EASY, I don't have to think about it or struggle with it. Play me a tune & I can repeat it. OTOH, art drives me crazy, makes me frustrated, gives me more joy than anything else, and it makes me complete. I can only say that it's because art is difficult for me, & when I create it I feel so much more accomplised.
So yeah, to sum up, IT'S NOT ABOUT TALENT! It's about what you get out of it.

Ooops, another rant - I HATE PRETTY BOYS! Biseinen are okay...Yuuto/Aoki for example, they look great...but bishounen are a little too perfect. Mostly because all the fans and the supporting characters go on about how cute/pretty/adorable the pretty boys are. I just don't think that's a valid reason to like them. For instance, I like adult Subaru, but it took me MONTHS to get over 16-year-old Subby's looks and start to like him. He was too girly & waif-like. Of course, I got over it & I like him now, but even so. Another example is of course Daisuke...I like the way he looks, he's seriously cute!*^^* I prefer his face to Kamui's any day.
*pauses for breath* So. Kusanagi. IMHO he's gorgeous. Plus he has distinctive features rather than being oh-so-very-bland such as Keiichi is (don't mistake me, I LOVE my Kei-bunny, but he looks like a CCS character. It was always his motivations & personality which got to me, & nothing to do with appearance).
It would be so RG Veda-ish if K/Y had to kill each other in the end. *sighs* Fortunately neither is an angsty character (GOOD THING! VERY VERY GOOD THING!) so I think they can work things out.

Hmm, for some reason, I'm liking the Yuuto/Sora slash-pairing more & more.^^; Sorata would be a fantastic mother for Keiichi - running round the house in his white apron laughing crazily, & then disappearing suddenly to feed the giant snake-monster living in the basement. XD

I'm going with Alison's idea of using Halloween as Sei-chan's birthday. Which means, I'm gonna make chocolate cake tonight! :D I got 'smarties' to decorate it with a Rainbow, & then I can use red food-colouring to do my traditional blood-splat motif on the icing! Heh heh XD
Today I also have to post Daddy his birthday present. I'm getting him 'Stardust' by Neil Gaiman, since Dad's a bigger fan of fairytale/quest stuff than even me!! Well, ok, so in fact it's his fault in the first place I like that stuff. Also my fannish behaviour & hopeless fangirl state are his fault too. *grins* DAD was the one who read me 'The Hobbit' when I was six. He was the one who got me to watch 'the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy' aged seven. MON PAPA THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! XDDDD
He was quite amused to hear Mum telling me (over the phone) to send the book in a small envelope. "What's this I hear about a small parcel? Shouldn't I be expecting a HUUUUUGE parcel? XD" Yes, Dad. When I stop giving all my money to CLAMP!^^;;;

*haruuuumph* I was still all hyped up from the comic place yesterday! At writing class we were doing exercises on dialogue, so we had to get in groups & write a small play together; each person 'in-character'. My character, May, is rather excitable and obsessed with circuses. By the end of the session, I was getting more & more hysterical!^^ So, yes, my shyness goes out the window when I'm on a comic high (usually I'm the quietest in class)...I was even reading out poems to the *shock, horror* whole class unabashedly.
So when I got home, Sophie and I had this impromptu fan-rave about Buffy and the X-Files. Sophie's my new roomie, BTW, since Saharu left us a little while ago to live with her boooooooyyyyyyyyfrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiennnnnnnnnnnnndddddd *blek* It's a pity he's such a cool guy, otherwise I could really hate him for taking away our Saharu-chan. Cute Osakan room-mates aren't a dime a dozen, specially ones who unexpectedly turn up with X 13's! *sighs* Ah well, I s'pose I have to get used to it, since she's going back to Japan to do her Master's degree in late December. But it's so weird without her around - I miss her already! ;_; She quickly called me up to remind me to meet her at the Uni library, & we ended up talking for about half-an-hour just because we hadn't talked to each other in a couple of days. *whines*
Oh, anyway, Sophie & I were blathering about X-Files (Mulder's a dork, but we can identify with him cos he's so geeky! XD), then John came back from work & gave me the usual old "you need to have more self-confidence" talk.*sighs* I know, I know, I know. The world is my oyster, if only I could be brave enough to BREAK OUT! I try. That's all I can say...little by little I'm getting better & more assertive.

Hey, Sei-chan!

A year today. It's a year today since I belatedly checked into DoS only to be confronted by that infamous black ribbon. And what changes were wrought by that event! I was propelled out of lurkerdom at the MB, I found out the joys of blog-hopping, I even managed to get onto the CLAMP mailing list. Most of all, it changed my whole internet existence from being just an elusive surfer to actually *GASP* communicating with people & making online friends.
Thanks, Sei-chan. You know I love you. It was fun screaming and yelling "Seishirou, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I've never had an experience quite like that one. So, to mark the occasion, I went to the Botanical Gardens today, picked up some pale pink camellia petals, threw them onto the stream and sang "ding-dong, the bish is dead! Which old bish? THe WICKED bish! Ding-dong, the wicked bish is dead!" Then I watched them floating out to the river. Pretty. ^__^

Luckily it's beautiful weather today, for a change (Spring is so iffy, weather-wise). The ducklings are getting much bigger! But still cute...a mother and four little duckies half her size walked calmly past me. They had their adult markings, so they looked like lil' mini-ducks. Hee hee.

*blinks* I can't believe I'm alert! Last night was wild and uncontrolled!!!! *giggles mischeviously* Arthur took me back to the Chinese comic-library place, which has a small bar/restaurant thingee as well, and an indoor rocky-fountain, & is basically my idea of heaven. Because there's all sofas around the place where you can sit to read; you're also allowed to take books up to the food-counter while you eat (good thing - try prising me away from a copy of 'Ayashi no Ceres' sometime!! XD).
I was looking at the selves, & then I go "oh, there's Sailor Moon!", so after that I was away! ;p I read 'Heaven, a Red River' (to summarise: sex, action, sex, action, more sex, more action...but the heroine is really cute and good with a sword), AnC (*coughs* sex-action-sex-action...I LUV SHOUJO! XD Aya looks real cute with short hair, too, and it's so great to actually see a manga heroine of normal proportions rather than being willowy & twig-like!! Heh, you do get to see a LOT of her proportions, as well ^_-), Angel Sancuary; also I couldn't resist checking out Tokyo Babylon and RG Veda just to see how they were translated. Pretty frickin' close to the originals, I'm glad to report! ^_^ I thought I'd be ok with TB, forgetting of course that the last time I flicked through book 7 I had flu & was merrily saying "cute little ghostie girl! She's so cuuute!" Without fever, TB 7 as usual reduced me to a sniffling, hair-pulling mess! Hence, the large quantities of AnC. I also looked at RG Veda 10 to take my mind off TB. *sighs* Poor Kendapoa and Souma! Poor old Tai-baby and Ashura-oh Senior, too. It's a shame they had to all kill each other. I'm also still mad about Kujaku! He was my fave!! >:( Hey, Yasha was a one-eye at the end, but surrounded by people with THREE! Why didn't Kuj-chan at least offer Yasha his spare eye before offing himself? XDDD
We clocked up three-and-a-half hours, a weird milky drink with jewels in (? can't remember the name - the 'jewels' are made of gelatine), WONTON SOUP!!!!! NUMMY!!!!, and about thirty volumes of manga (I can't read Mandarin, so I was just skimmming through them voraciously). Arthur joked about getting a tent and camping there! XD But it's such a cool place, and really posh, AND with Chinese Kareoke! :D What more could I want! I finally remembered to ask Arthur about mooncakes, & he said (all together now) "mooncake season is over". *sighs* Next year, then. It was actually a unique experience for me, being in a place where everyone's talking a language I don't understand (Ok, NIHAU! I understand 'nihau' but nothing else! XD)...Arthur is fluent, I should point out...I think I managed to not commit a terrible faux pas. I even managed to eat noodles with chopsticks! In the cold light of day, I don't know how I did it, actually. Probably only cos I was all hazily under the influence of AnC ("you IDIOT! Go with Yuuhi! Go with Yuuhi! AAAAAAAARGH, you fool!") :P Arthur was evil, putting the sauce (with anchovy + chili + chili seeds + lord knows what other lethally burning things) onto my plate. He's from Malaysia, where they seem to have chili for breakfast^^;;;

Back at my house, John, Sophie, & Adam were still up (it was about quarter-to-midnight! Raving fan-ness knows no circadian rhythm!), and I was dangerously hyped-up...like CrackBunny!Keiichi on speed and LSD and Kamui's happy pills all at once. XDDDDD Arthur is still trying to convince me that Kamui will make a Keikai for Keiichi. *shakes head* Nope, not gonna happen. Still, it would be cute I guess. And then after, they could go out for icecream! *claps hands* aaah, just anything, ANYTHING to see Keiichi in something other than school uniform. Besides, it seems so unfair since both his parents died, for him to die as well.
Do you know how much fun it is to take a bunch of people who have only seen Cardcaptors aside and tell them just exactly what was changed in the dub? *grins evilly* And then I was so hyper that I dragged out my pile of CCS manga and SHOWED them the untampered bits!! XD

Lika-chan, I was brought up atheist. This doesn't mean I was brought up with my family telling me "all religions are rubbish", but simply that religion was not part of daily life. Or a part of me, I should say. I do believe that there's something absolutely amazing which created this Universe, I do believe animals have souls, & I do believe we are damn lucky to be part of such a wonderful planet. Too many religions, I find, are used by people to gain influence or power over others; or even just to feel morally superior. If I was going to convert to anything, I think personally I'd go for Buddism (ahem... *schedules in 'enlightenment' in amongst all the clutter of comics and books and art and internet and all the rest* -_-;;;) just because it strongly pushes changing oneself. *waves hand*aaaaah, I'm gabbling. Lika, I'd just want you not to feel afraid, or be coerced into anything (not just religion, ANYTHING) because of fear. If you live it, if you love it, then yes GO WITH IT.
