I am soooooooooooooooooooo hyper today! @_@ The reason is that Arthur and I watched the X movie on DVD yesterday, for the first time. Well it was kinda crappy, as I'd heard, and the Kamui/Fuuma/Kotori bits were boring. And Kanoe kissed Fuuma! Unanimously: EUW YUCK!!! However... Shougo was cool! Aoki, Karen, and Yuzu were so cute! *^__^* I liked the Hinoto/Kanoe bits; although I have to admit to giggling when Hinoto was crawling towards her sister with the bells jingling ("She's getting away! Someone stop her!" XD) and Sorata. Perfection! The movie is worth seeing for Sorata alone. I'll have to rave more about this when I'm more coherant, but MAN, the costume (RED GOGGLES! :D), the grin, the HAHAHAHAHAHA! I love you, Sora. Will you be my new role-model? *tosses Aoki aside* SORA: If she's pretty, go ahead and die for her. WAHAHAHA! ME: *holds up Hinoto for inspection* Pretty enough? SORA: Sure, go for it, kid! *thumbs up* But I have to say, it was a straaaaaange experience to watch 'Buffy' straight after the X movie - Xander Harris and Sorata Arisugawa could be brothers. Wow.

As part of the book festival that was happening throughout last week, Belinda had entered this contest, which was basically 'who can write the worst possible Mills & Boon-type extract'. (Last year was the 'Dark & Stormy Night' competition, where entrants had to write a bad gothic story). I went with Bel to offer moral support, and the whole affair was screamingly bad and quite hillarious. ^_^ The Compare kept apologising throughout the readings ("I'm so sorry you had to sit through that"), and as part of his intro he said "if you're offended by euphemisms such as 'masculinity' or 'manhood', just think 'boner' instead". *SNIK* He gave us a break in the middle of the evening, "so you can all go and have a wash" LOL...and indeed most of the entries had a fair amount of salaciousness (Ammie has learnt a new word from the Smut Contest and she's showing it off, XD). Aparently the gothic stories of previous years hadn't been bad enough, so the organisers were hoping that smuttiness would lower the tone appropriately.
Oh! Satsy and Maria-chan, there's some pics you just HAVE to see! This cosplay has a most fabulous Kusanagi (were on earth did they find him? He's perfect!), the Pocky incident (KAWAIIIII) and best of all some adorable K/Yness (cookies & cream ^_~). Plus a cute lil' stuffed Inuki, LOL. And the Sora is funny/goofy, hoorah. Moving on; this cosplay has a most deliriously cute, delicious and glompable Yuzu-chan (who is this girl? Where is she? I want to kidnap her back to N.Z.!! *DROOLS*). XD XD XD But he was wonderful at emulating the very cool Original Obi Wan (TM). YODO KICKED BUTT! AHAHAHAHAHAHA! XD And then went back to hobbling on his stick, the old faker ^_~. The kid was ok, nothing special, but MAN when he did the 'going evil' bits he was F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C. *luvs going evil bits* ^_^
Jay Thingamee (the guy in Amadala's entourage with the black eye-patch) and Temuara Morrison (the guy those silver aliens used as a template for clones) are both very well-known NZ actors (well-known in NZ, that is ^_-)...Tem-baby in particular was on our TV soap (as Doctor Ropata, *snicker*) for YEARS, so Marie & Bel were in hysterics every time he spoke! ^^;;; I was like "why is there a little Maori kid living with the silver aliens?" and then "OMG, IT'S TEM-BABY!!!" LMAO (before anyone asks, I'm 1/32 Maori; not very much but I'm proud of it ^_____^). That kid was cute! LOL
