Oh, NZ ostrich & llama meat is nothing. In Australia you can get kangaroo meat, or crocodile, or goanna! :P OTOH they protect their possums (which are eating NZ forests to death, the cute fluffy menaces) whereas we try to kill them & eat them as much as possible. *grin*

Hey, liked your nostalgia rant! Most of my nostalgic memories have to do with Doctor Who or my dogs. Lesse...when Merlie was happy, he wagged his tail. When he was really happy, he wagged so hard his whole hindquarters were wiggling. And when he was really really REALLY happy, his tail went round & round in circles. XD I kid you not.

No, I don't have fashion sense. Frizzy-haired, scruffy tomboys generally don't. At the moment I'm wearing my baggy old off-green jersey and faded purple sweatpants.

C'mon, Epee-chan, the Terada-sensei/Rika-chan thing is very sweet. He wants her to wait for him. =) Besides, this is CLAMP, what do you expect from them? And, the kids are actually TEN years old at that stage, I believe.
I have a lot of fun watching Cardcaptors & shrieking "PAEDOPHILE!" when Terada-sensei is onscreen. XD He's nearly two years younger than me, so I think he's adorable.

I have to say, Kerianne promises to be a great future wife. Someone with a healthy appreciation for infidelity; THAT'S what I look for in a wife! XD XD XD

I should point out; the reason I like abstract art is that I can't paint for toffee, so the only decent paintings I ever did at polytech were of ABSTRACT CLOUDS. ;p

Sat-chan, I feel like a fool for never having figured out the deal with Yuzu/Inuki until recently. They ARE my favourite couple in X, after all. My excuses? Um, well I wasn't very happy about how Inuki got killed off. And then Yuzu brought him BACK?! It was just all so strange.
I must admit to being suspicious as well, thinking CLAMP was going to remove Inuki & then it'd be all "oh, it doesn't matter since now I have a boyfriend" sort of thing. *laughs* Ridiculous, I know. Especially since I will SCREAM if Yuzu/Kusa don't get together at the end.
Anyhow. A couple of weeks ago I was reading this book with a very interesting analysis of Japanese culture, including a section devoted to shoujo manga (Nausiica, Psychic Girl Mai, Vampire Princess Miyuu, Sailor Moon to be precise). They were talking particularly about the representation of girls. Since Yuzu is THE 'shoujo' in X (Arashi's not nearly so cute), the theories in the book shed some light for me. Yuzuriha looks outwardly like an innocent & sweet girl, but she has an Inugami (big scarey wolf) which is inherantly linked to her. And when he died she said that he would be a part of her FOREVER.
Of course, the main thing is when she wished for power & got Inuki back. He came from inside of her - hence, he really IS part of her.
So *pauses for breath* in fact I think Yuzu-chan was looking for someone who could see Inuki because anybody who couldn't would never be able to see who/what Yuzu really was, & could never appreciate how special she is.
...whoo, that was a rant!^^;;;

A&P Day.

There are Lhamas in the town square today! :P They're very pretty, although I think we farm them for their meat, mostly. I could be wrong, but we certainly use ostriches mainly for meat.(>:D Anything on four legs, must eaaaaaaaaaat! XD XD)
It's the Agricultural & Pastoral Show, so I get the day off work!! Heehee. No lovin' for the Dewey Decimal System from me! XD Speaking of work, I'm enjoying 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'. It's not exactly side-splittingly hillarious, but I can see how kids would love it, and I like the way the author is always explaining his words or phrases. Very clever. The lead female is an inventor, which is cool. Better than in 'Artemis Fowl'...
this leads me to another point. Artemis was great, fast-paced & exciting, but too 'boy-sy' for me. One of those books I'll read once & then never bother with again (although it's good). The thing is, WHY did the main female character have to be yet another 'girl with gun desperate to prove that she can beat up people just as well as any boy'? Is this a male-thing, or what? Because if it's supposed to be proactive for females that's really dumb.
Of course, Arashi with her sword is different. ^_~ She's not like "oh, I have to kill lots of zombies to prove that I'm smart".

I love Hans Solo. Such a cool personality. *_*
Hmm, I dunno, I suppose art-nouveau is fairly girly. Why this should be a bad thing, I don't know. I really adore pre-raphilite stuff, & abstact of course, so I guess that tells you how much of a total day-dreamer I am. ^_^ Besides, art is meant to be about more subconcious things, isn't it? Otherwise it seems fairly soul-less. (If you want realism take a snapshot, is what I say.)

Same here. I was always non-smoking, non-drinking, non-dating, non-partygoing (etc etc), as were all my schoolfriends. And we still are, pretty much, except for Emily's two years of excessive alcohol when she was living in the university student-dorms. In NZ it seems to be de rigeur for students to drink half a bottle of gin, turn green and fall over. Anyway, I hate alcohol. I'm a sweet-tooth, & booze is just too bitter for me. Sake is especially horrible! *shudders*
Come to think of it, I used to play the harmonica XD XD XD (not in public, though!). So yeah, just in case you're thinking I'm a good person, I'm not; I'm a stubborn saddo Doctor Who fan, & that's the way I like it!! =)
Oh, the auditions? That was fun, they were looking for extras who were either very tall (for elves) or very short (i.e. Emily & me). All that happened was we had to measure ourselves & have photos taken (to prove our vertically-challenged-ness). We were joking afterwards that they'd probably take one look at our pictures and say "How hideous! We need these girls! As Orks! They won't even need to wear make-up!"

YAAY, my cute little tea-addicted apocalyptic angel now knows who my favourite X couple is! I loved them straight away in volume 5. As for the other beast, I'd actually bought some of those stickers for myself last year, so I was also amazed there were any at all for sale these days! Beast rocks, *growlpurrpurrpurr* ^___^ I haven't noticed Joseph Fiennes in anything for a long time (just Ralph instead), but did you know he has A TWIN? *drools* Oh my... *^^* As for smoking, the easy way to put yourself off it is to think of Sumeragi-san, I guess.
Hmm, how many gel-pens do you think is excessive? Ten? Twenty? XD XD XD

I'm always responding to older entries (or newer ones) all over the place, so don't worry about it! ^_^ I've been very slack in responding to all of our impending nuptials (XDDDD), but I have actually picked out the china patterns. Luckily Dai & Kei aren't fussy about what kind of bathtub they live in, since our household will be rather crowded! ;p (I have to mention that Sora-chan might actually look good with a goatie. Alan Rickman was in 'Truely Madly Deeply' (very good weepy movie...Juliet Stevenson is a goddess!), but my main reason for liking him is because he was brilliantly cheesey & funny as the Sheriff of Nottingham in 'Prince of Thieves' (the Kevin Costner version of Robin Hood). "At least I didn't do it with a spoon", heh heh heh. A good choice for Snape & a good actor. Daniel What's-is-mijiger was really great in 'David Copperfield' last year, I want to buy the video still (always liked Dickens for some stupid reason >_<). The one I'm most looking forward to seeing is Robbie Coltrane - I love that man!!!! ^_^

Ah, yes, The Lord of the Rings movie is also coming soon! I'm looking forward to it even more than Harry Potter. Elijah Wood is so cute as a hobbit!! :P Not to mention, everywhere my family & I went last christmas was a LOTR filming-site (mountains & forest, that is. My parents are mad keen hikers. And yeeeeeeeeees, they filmed all of the LOTR outdoors stuff in New Zealand. The director, Peter Jackson, is a NZer too. Wee-hee ^_^ *feeling patriotic*). It's gonna be a gas watching the movie & saying "I've been there" XD Hobbiton is acually Morrinsville, which is like half-an-hour away from my hometown! Coolies. Although it's my Daddy who's the uber-Tolkien fan of the family. Can't wait to get his reaction to the movie.

Ali-in-disguise, that would be me who wants Seiichirou-san to get a divorce. I totally agree with what you said, & would also lose respect for him if he cheated. 'The Adventures of Dinosaur Bob and the Family Lazardo' - brilliant, BRILLIANT picture book, I highly recommend it. 1929, big green dinosaur playing baseball. ^_^ Grown-ups just don't know what great stuff they're missing out on!
