*phone rings* ME: Hullo? LIKA: Um, hello, can I speak to Amelia please? ME: Yes...LIKA IS THAT YOU?!
*lmao* So I'm not the most coherant person to talk to, and I tend to giggle a lot which is a terrible habit.^^;;; But Lika-chan, you have a cool accent (it sounds American to me) especially since you say 'ke~wl' not 'kuul'! That is so, uh, COOL! *lol* I'm so glad you pronounce all the X character's names wrong like I do! ^________^ At least we know who we're talking about! XD "Dah-ee-suu-kay" will forever be "Dice-ooki", hehehehheheh. Or "Skippy-dono". ^_- Reyes and the Whale music sounds so awesome! hee hee I can't do whale-song, but I can do Alan Rickman. WAHAHAHAHA!! :D And mud-wrestling at the end of the world is a good thing (at least, Hinoto is looking forward to it XD), although... would Subaru actually win in a contest against Tree-san? *rofl* That would SO be the icing on the cake if he lost. *SNIK* Yes, Nataku told Karen-san that Hinoto was the one who initially contacted Kazuki's grandfather. Presumably Karen's smart enough to figure out something's fishy about that. As a fervent Windmaster fangirl, I'm hoping Karen'll tell Aoki, & he'll be like "how could she betray Daisuke-kun? *angeranger*"...probably just wishful thinking on my part. ^_^ Anyway, Lika-chan, talking to you was interesting, as it was so familiar and yet not. *grins* I finally got to ask you about crying over pottery! Yay!

I just found out that the film version of 'The Importance of Being Ernest' is coming out next week; starring Judy Dench, Rupert Everett, AND Colin Firth! WHOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Judy Dench kicks serious butt! YEE-HAW! ^_________^
I was looking through X 14 last night, and I just have to say would someone PLEASe tell Aoki-san to stop being so frickin' adorable! *squeals* Damn, the man is cute! #^___^# Hey, Keri-chan, I noticed that Aoki blushes the same way Daisuke does~! With the red face and the sweat dripping off. That is SO CUTE!! And yeah, whenever he gnashes his teeth it's like, WHOA, family resemblance! Having vented my spleen about how disimilar those two are, I now keep coming across all these little details that make the Windmasters so alike! ^^^;;; The most important thing is that, although not all uptight and stuff, Aoki does seem to exhibit something of mule-like stubborness. Look at the lengths he's willing to go when Karen drugged him (stuck a KNIFE in his leg fer gosh sakes), just because she said something that made him mad. And after the fight with Yuuto he's like "I WILL cry for you *glareglare*". So there you go, family resemblance to Daisuke is strong. Therefore, I have the horrible suspicion that no matter what Aoki's possible feelings for Karen are, he'd just be too darn stuck on Family & Duty & Honour (like Dai-kun) to do the sensible thing and get a divorce. The only way I can see him getting out of the marriage willingly is if he & Shimako had a massive blazing row...which isn't likely to happen, I s'pose. *sigh*

"his undulating, pulsating, aerodynamic windmasterstick" LMAO, no prizes for guessing what Keri-chan and I were talking about on AIM yesterday. ^_~ But it's so much more interesting than saying 'manstick'; AND if you change the names around it can be used as an all-purpose lurid description of either Aoki or Dai! XD Note to anyone writing A/K PWPs - don't forget about naughty uses for wind-powers. Heheheheh Keri, we should give Aoki a bumper-sticker for his car which reads:
=====Windmasters do it Aerodynamically====
Although I'm thinking maybe Daisuke could use his windmasterstick to steer for when he's flying - like a rudder or something!! ROFL It's weird that he's the only character other than F/K who has been definitely seen flying - one would imagine that the Dragons fly as well, but Arashi fell & had to be caught by net!Inuki-chan, so I'm not so sure. Argh. I take back what I said about CLAMP being geniuses. They're crap writers! XD They grant and take away powers as it suits the plot - blatant inconsistency.
Hey, Keri, is there an A/K mailing list? If not, we should set one up! Damned if we're gonna let Sorashi & Yuzu/Kusa have lists to themselves, but not A/K!! It's the principle of the thing. ^_^ YUUTO/SATSUKI/KANOE: What about uuuuuuuuuuuus? ;_; -0-0- ;_; DAI/HINOTO: Hey, we're straight too! >_< >;3 ME: SHOOSH, you lot! And dear *to Hinoto-chan* please stop smirking. Everyone'll wonder what you've been up to. ^____~

Ok, so D/H being the only het X pairing/couple/whatnot that I'm passionate about, I guess they deserve a little rave from me. It didn't happen without a struggle, mind you, especially since I was blazingly jealous of Hinoto for the longest time. ^_^ But I love her now, although I admit some of that has to do with feeling pity for her. I tend to get into characters after I feel sorry for them - same thing happened with Keiichi so I am aware of this. Soon as a character is in pain I finally figure that they do have feelings & can be hurt. Poor Hinoto-chan. Now, if I thought she had a hope in hell of getting away with betraying the Dragons, things would be different. But while the Dragons have a certain amount of immunity (*pats Sei-chan and Nataku* well not you guys, sorry 'bout that^^) or at least a chance of getting in some hospital nookie before they fight on the Promised Day, what does Hinoto-chan get? DIDDLY-SQUAT! That enraged, hormonally-overactive, pig-headed idiot who was the only tender mercy in her life managed to get himself offed in her honour, and now she's gone insane. Wow, her life is simply peachy, ain't it. >_>;;; So yeah, she's another of my dear non-Dragons who's gotten screwed over & is inevitably going to meet a sticky end.
Anyway. Enough of ranting. I just hope that Karen'll kick Hinoto's ass, cos Karen is cool like that. ^_~
As far as it's scripted, the relationship between D/H is a straight-forward romance. Daisuke was born for Hinoto, and he died for her. What more is there to say? Daisuke seems to have always had a crush on Hinoto; but the main point when building up his character was that he wasn't as hardline NotKamui as he might appear at the start of X. All that cutesiness with Yuzu-chan and Aoki, finding out that he's basically putty in the Princess's hands, then eventually apologising to Kamui. I mean, think about it; he was in love with Hinoto of all people. So he's basically a big old softie. And yes, he goes all embarrased & runs out of the room blushing when Hinoto is nice to him. *shriek* That is SO cute. ^_^ As for Hinoto-hime herself, I think the only thing going on with her was that she had always thought Daisuke hung about with her because of his duty. And when she finally figures out it's because he genuinely cares about her, she is very touched. While Dai-kun is clearly all smoopy-squishy over Hinoto, I don't think she felt the same way. I do, however, think she was fond of him at least.
What do I find satisfying about the whole D/H mess? Probably just that the two of them are weird characters, & an even weirder match together! X's odd couple! WOOT! ^_~ And Daisuke certainly proved that he's willing to go to the wall for his beliefs...naturally CLAMP are their evil selves and make THAT the turning point for Hinoto, but then they're clever like that. Oh, the futility and the irony! Of course I'm one of very few who appreciates this or even cares at all, but CLAMP are geniuses when you notice the painstaking details like this.

Ah, the bad puns abound. Anyway, Sesame has settled in really well, and has decided he likes to go underneath my bed to use it as a cave-hideout. LOL
Oh, Sats, Bel told me that in Germany there are tea shops with, um, just tea! That is SO COOL! I'm so going to have to visit you! ^_- Celtic shops are great. There's one in Auckland which Onii-chan took me to the last time I was visiting. The other shop I like there is the medieval shop - it has chain mail & swords & this cool mirror with a wooden frame depicting dragons.
*flashes V-sign* 1978. I was three, and madly in love with Scooby-doo (yes, the DOG, ^_~). Does that date me? I'm sure it must've been first-run...I remember Scrappy-doo when he was a new character, LOL. But the only character I especially liked was Scooby. Good to hear the letter arrived safely. *^___^*
Short-shorts. You said the code-word! Now, does this mean I have to start eating my secret message; or that it's time to unleash angry genetically enhanced uber-hamsters onto the earth? Yes, folks, there is a conspiracy between all the Kei-fans going on right this minute! Be sure you know who your allies are when the time comes, because we ain't taking prisoners! XD ^_____________________^ Um, so Ko, you have a lot saner fantasy world than I do.^^;;; Mine involves giving Keiichi lots of oestrogen...and I won't describe the rest, it's too horrifying. XDDD Besides, he'd probably enjoy the track team - "for me, I prefer long-distance" uh-huh. (hyperactive little booger *pats him fondly*). and the Sun BELONGS to him! I never,ever depict him without sunlight in some form or other. Plus the actual tarot card is almost exactly right for him (not that CLAMP would be nice enough to give this to us). I'm interested to note that Kei-chan looks good in red!! I've always drawn him with dark blue clothes, since it goes so well with blonde hair. However, red is definitely a big YES for him! ^_^ And gold, of course. Red/gold, darkblue/gold; definitely.
And some last-minute corrections/additions to the Rave:
- I checked, only to see that Aokidoesn't make a teary face (must've been thinking of Sei-chan^^;;;). He in fact just has his chin in his hand with this really mischevious smile. *SNORTS* Aoki, you evil evil man! *cackle* XDDD
- Ok so I actually started falling for Daisuke back in X 5 when he got all snotty with Arashi (who was warning him to stop fighting with Kamui - sensible advice, but Dai-kun of course too bloody stubborn to take it ::HEARTS::)...and he said "While I am not one of the 'Seven Seals', I am a wind master, who is
entrusted with the duty of protecting Princess Hinoto." Meaning that he's not planning on taking a back seat just because he's not a Dragon. That is SO cool. :D
- Erm, yes, I remember now exactly what I was thinking when I first saw that side-story of Seiichirou's. 'Ooo, he's so pretty! Pretty Aoki!...WAK, Daisuke still had that bad haircut when he was little. In fact, it looks WORSE!^^;;;'

When I started getting X it was the Viz version, right from when they put out the first six chapters in seperate issues. I really loved Aoki's introduction ("Waaaaaaah! My beeper! I have to find a phone! Sorry! My job and all!" ROFLMAO) in X 4, so I spent all of X 5 hoping to see 'that nice cute man with the umbrella' and was sorely disappointed when he didn't show. Especially since Yuzu-chan mentioned him so that both Dai-kun and Arashi reacted to hearing the name 'Aoki". Now, I knew how Arashi had met Aoki, but I had no clue as to what sort of connection Daisuke had with the guy.
Then I plunged into online life and quickly slurped up as many spoilers as I could once I'd started surfing X sites. And I found out that Aoki was Daisuke's uncle...'admittedly adored' uncle I believe was the phrasing. I was floored! How on earth NotKamui boy could be related to someone funny and sweet like Aoki I couldn't imagine. After my roomie scored a copy of X 13 for me, I saw a little of A/D; mainly just that Aoki was really upset after Daisuke died. Didn't give me much of an idea of how they related to each other. And then the fatal one - X 12. I was so geared up to hating the bit where Kamui & Daisuke apologise to each other, but naturally Dai-kun has to ruin my resolve by blushing and getting all embarrased and clenching his teeth while he says "I'm sorry too". BLARGH! So cute, darn it. ^^;;; Worst was that he goes "*cough*AHEM*cough*" to get Kamui's attention!! I think that was when I started falling for Dai-kun. The main point of this was that he mentioned Seiichirou-san at first...so yeah, evidently he thinks Aoki is unreservedly perfect. I was convinced! LOL
Seiichirou's side-story was wonderful - not only was he soooooooo pretty at (I'm guessing) age 24, but Dai-kun turns out to be the cutest little button ever aged 10! Because he wasn't a dewey-eyed pretty chibi-version; he was Daisuke, only a child, if you see what I mean. He still had the heavy black eyebrows (incidently, the only physical resemblance between A/D is the eyebrows. Check out the side-story, you'll see it) and the snubbed nose & the bad hair. LOL And don't I adore him for it! *_* Most of all I was interested to see that Dai-kun responded differently to Aoki when he was little. Yes, they changed the relationship from how it is with Daisuke as a surly teenager. Oh, he's still stubborn as a child, but much more amicable. Positively worships Aoki, whereas at 17 he'd never admit to it so openly. ^_~
And X 8! LMAO. I love you, X 8. It's so great when a character you're already crazy about can turn around and really make you laugh. (much like Yamazaki in CCS, being the wicked fairy for the school play. "Yamazaki's good at being a girl^^;;;" ROFLSHMEFOTS!!!!!!!) That face he pulled - and you MUST know the one I mean - had me in stiches. Of course, Aoki was also hillarious. Give him five seconds and he's like "oh, seeing Daisuke-kun all grown up makes me very emotional, yes yes" *teary face* with Daisuke in the background getting more and more humiliated!!!! R.O.F.L. Before this I'd thought Aoki was such a nice man, but HE KNEW just how to get the needle into Dai-kun! XDDD
So in case you're wondering what I find satisfying about A/D, there's your answer. XD and I won't start on Yuzu/Inuki or we'll be here all night. ^_- I know just how Daisuke feels about Aoki as his role-model; and I appreciate that CLAMP can make them non-snuggly and non-sappy, but still a truely touching relationship. It's why when people claim CLAMP aren't good writers I simply have to laugh. They ARE good writers, if you can get past all of the teasing YAOI hints. So there! XD

We have a new cat!!!!!!!! *_* He's orange and tawny-eyed, so Bel has named him 'Sesame' (which really suits him). So far he's settled in well, although at first he was pretty upset at being bunged in a box, etc. Seems like a sweet kitty. He has a weird meow, it sounds like "WAOW". *giggles* And of course, guess who's bed he immediately took a shine to? Yes, mine. ^^;;; So I think I've aquired another fluffy orange bunkmate. LOL
AKKKKK! Bad girl! No incest! XD I'm intregued by your X gods and goddesses idea. The Maori god of wind is called Tawhirimatea ("Tah-firi-mah-tey-ah") - he's very cool. But Tanemahuta ("Tah-ney-mah-hootah"), Tane for short, is the god of forests, animals, etc, and he's the coolest.
Hey, Alison, having seen that bath-tub pic I've realised that I actually LIKE Kamui when he's smiling. It's only the interminable angsting which puts me off him! What an awesome pic! Cutie cutie cutie! *pinches his cheek* At this point I'm really praying that Daisuke's gonna get a tarot card, since there's no way they're ever drawing him in colour for Asuka. Trouble is, he doesn't SUIT any of the remaining cards. I'm thinking bribery is in order. Clamp, what do you want from me, BLOOD? I'll give you blood! I'll give you anything! I just want to know once and for all what damn colour Dai-kun's hair is s'posed to be! ;_;
TOTAL RELIEF! *gasps* I think CLAMP enjoys playing with our minds. >_>;;; No way am I going to be able to handle A/K dying, or Sorata for that matter. *^__^* I love you too, in that daughter-in-law/uncle way! XDDD And no, I'm not looking for Yuzu/Inuki snogging, LMAO. That would just be ill! Same goes for Aoki/Dai, of course...and I used the term 'pairing' since the only other one I could think of was 'couple' which is so very wrong. ^_- ...Not that Inuki isn't Yuzu-chan's partner, but it's 'partner' in the old-fashioned sense of the word. *hee hee* Anyway, A/D, they were so cute because of their divergent personalities. I don't see how anyone could not like them. Oooh, and they got to have icecream together with Yuzu-chan in the TV series, heheh. BTW, Daisuke is too hot, is too is too is too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^_~ (yeah, I can enjoy myself with this for a loooooooooooong time XD).

I have about a bijillion thigs to reply to, so I'll do my best...BUT FIRST! *grin* Bel's friend Manon is on holiday from Uni & has come to stay for a couple of weeks. She's very nice. =) In the weekend we were going around town, mostly at the Art's Centre Market which has tons of cool stalls (and fortunately lacking in the touristy crap like kiwifruit soap and bunjie-jumping sheep, LOL). The best place there (other than fudge cottage ^_______^) is the bead shop, where you can choose your own beads and make your own necklace/earings/whatever. It's so cool! Then on Sunday we went to tramp (hike) in the Port Hills - WONDERFUL view of the Southern Alps (yes dears, where Gandalf & co got hit by lots of snow ^_-). It's lovely when the sunlight makes the distant mountains look blue. This may make us sound really fit, but here is what we said after getting out of the woods: Manon: "My legs feel like jelly!" Bel: "Mine too!" Me: "Same!" *pant pant gasp* But it is amazing how a little exercise can make you feel so much better ^_~.
You're Yuzuki!
You're quiet, but that doesn't mean that wheels aren't turning behind those pretty eyes of yours. While you're not as 'emotional' as others, there's no doubt that you entertain feelings of, perhaps, a more refined calibre. While you're expected (or programmed) to act a certain way, sometimes you surprise. And there's no doubt about it - you're loved. Which Chobits Character Are You? quiz by Neru
