This layout features Percy Weasley from J.K. Rowling's series of Harry Potter novels. Yes, I drew that pic^^;;; Sorry about all the hearts. LOL

Went to Raglan over the weekend, which was nice as I hadn't been there in ages. The sand seems to be losing it's iron content, as it's not black like I remember it used to be (the dog used to get his poor paws burnt on a hot day there. One time I carried him over the worst bits & this passer-by goes "awww, is that your baby?" hee hee ^.^). At least the pools are still there. I used to call them "islands" when I was little.Raglan's more like a wilderness than a beach.
Um...oh yeah, hopefully I'll get to Borders tommorow! *BEAMING smile* Wanna get hold of 'The Art of Return of the King' since Alison-sama recommended it. And 'Peach Girl' too; sometimes it's nice to get a really girly manga just for a change. *g* To be honest, I've bought way too much LotR this week (got the Rough Guide and the three-CD movie soundtrack because they were both on special). Bad me!! Can't resist hobbits over summertime.
My dearest, I'm so pleased you had a laugh over the rabbit ears. Knew they were the right thing to get you. ;))))) Actually the plushie bunny would look like Bigwig exactly if it had a little top-knot thingee. That's so cool you decided to call it Bigwig. :) As long as I'm around you will always have hobbit yuri. *lol* *snuggles* BTW, from your LJ it sounds like you've been very busy. Hope all goes well in the new job and such. And you're going to an anime convention? AWESOME!!! :))))))
You poor thing! *petshugs* Morning sickness can't be fun (& Nee-chan tells me it's usually not just in the mornings^^;;;). Although all that food you cooked sounds wonderful (*licks lips* Can you be my wife from now on? LOL I'm such a hobbit. Food is everything ^_^). Your new blog layout looks great: love the colours, and Usagi+Luna is too cute for words!!
Drove over to Thames with the Parental Units, to see the butterfly house. Sugoi!!!!! We walked into the enclosure & there's all these little bright flying things everywhere. If you looked up, it was as if there were coloured pieces of sky moving everywhere. The moths were neat too. Really, really HUGE moths with amazing colours. Um...oh yeah, Thames. It's on a biiiiiiiiig estuary, so lots and lots of mud. *g* My best school fieldtrip ever was going there to do tests on mangroves & collect samples for 7th Form biology. We got to spend the whole day wading around knee-deep in soft grey mud. It was brilliant. :)
*hugs* Thanks for the info; now it all makes sense to me. (practising: Onii-chan & giri no kyoudai LOL) And do take care of yourself...all that hospital & doctor stuff seems really scarey to me.^^;;;

We were at my cousin's wedding over the weekend. It was at Mission Beach, so Rangitoto Island was right there behind the gathering, the sky was blue, the water was warm; everything was perfect. The three little daughters acted as bridesmaids, with coronets of tiny pink roses in their hair, fairy-style. Very cute. :)
Apart from this, y'all should see my nephew's impression of Batman. It's hysterical. He was running around on Sunday morning holding a white sheet behind him, flapping the sheet with both arms and saying loudly "FWAP! FWAP!" (translation: "flap flap"...baby logic is apparently that if you say it at ear-splitting pitch it's for real^^). However I think Bruce Wayne would be less than amused. *grins* When Q-ball's a little older I'll get him to dress as Robin with me being Batgirl (or - why not go for it - Batman). *evil grin*
ali-chan, thanks for the tip on calcium. I knew it was good stuff: just not THAT good. Must...drink...more..milk...
Sarai-chan - again that's exactly the same as my sister-in-law (OH! Question time...d'you know if in Japan they have some sort of equivalent for "in law", or do they simply say "nee-chan" rather than "nee-chan in law"?). She was taking a multivitamin which included folic acid before she knew she was pregnant. ^__^ Ah, yes, this new one will be number two. Q-ball is still the one-and-only at the moment. ^__-
<3 *loves Erjika forever and ever* Everyone go check out the loveliness of her new layout! Oh the underwater prettiness and OH the hime worship! <3

Hey, you. *g* Hope you have a great day & celebrate in style. ^__^ It's been a wonderful almost-four-years knowing you. Your support & friendship have meant so much...and just having someone to goof off with making crazy posts at DoS. Thank you for all of that. It's nice to know in this world there really is still hope, & friends worth fighting for.
...hmmm. To think that all this started with "SEISHIROU NOOOOOOO ;_;" Hee. =^.^=

Poor blog, I've left you for so long! Kinda went LotR crazy after seeing Return of the King at the theatre on New Years Day ...running around like a spazzy fangirl takes effort, ya know? ~_^ Hence, no blogging.
So...all I can say about RotK is that is was utterly brilliant, epic, otherworldly and pretty much hit me for six emotionally. I haven't sat on the edge of my seat silently willing the protagonist on and mouthing "nooooo, no, NO" at the movie screen since I was a kid. *blows kisses at PJ and JRRT*
Fun times were had for me when the previews began, as the first one up had a certain Peter Parker. I CAN'T WAIT FOR SPIDERMAN 2!!!!!!!!!!! *adds in more capitals and exclaimation marks* It's gonna be great! *big happy grin* It was also hillarious seeing the promo for The Last Samauri because that was clearly /NOT/ Japan. *chuckles* In case anyone's still in doubt, they filmed in Taranaki (North Island of New Zealand) -- my Mum was born there and everything. LOL I'm going to have to see it just to giggle and point out Mt Taranaki doubling for Mt Fuji. :-P
In RL, we went to Onni-chan's over the weekend & hung out with Quinn. ^_^ One of the advantages of this is that Auckland is the only city in NZ with a Borders bookshop (yeah that's like ONE in the entire country^^;;;). I got the latest Charles De Lint collection in paperback!! *bounces* It's called 'Tapping the Dream Tree'...only had time to read the first story so far, but it's wonderful as ever. In fact, I think CDL is getting better and better - the characters feel so real, dialogue works & they all have music. Um...anyway, Q-ball is fine. He came to wake me up on Sunday morning, bouncing on my bed claiming to be a monster (in growly voice: "MONTAH!") and then spazzing out (like: "WeeeeOOOOweeeOOO wibble wibble" *roll around, spaz*). Just to prove he's as insane as the rest of the family. *wink* I spent the rest of the morning amusing myself by teaching him to say "preciousssss" and then "myyyy preciousssss". ha ha :P

Finished watching it; loved it. It's nice to see an anime that is wacky and weird for the sake of being wacky and weird. :-) Evangelion and others like it are over-rated for having philosophical and moral aspects. Eva is a brilliant show for having rock solid science fiction, cool giant robots *g* and a completely screwed-up cast (watching them is like watching a car-crash...you know you should look away & somehow can't). The philosophical/moral stuff was a MESS - it was all over the place with no follow through.
Anyhow, Read Or Die. I'm already horribly tempted to cosplay as Yomiko (y'know, an actual librarian cosplaying as a librarian XD). And there's a perfect skirt for her I saw last time at the shops...
Thanks Lika-chan for pointing out that series to me. GOOD LUCK with the "dunking", eh. ^__^
Oh right, so PR is pretty much warm all year round. Cool! I love having summertime at Christmas, even though the heat makes you not able to stuff yourself with yummy food. *pouts and licks lips* :-)

Well, in amongst the Babylon 5 insanity I've been indulging in recently (how insane? Check out Londo in the outakes reel saying "I thought I saw a pussycat. I did! I did see a pussycat." Gawd, I love these people) -- I seem to have fallen head over heels in love with the Susan Ivanova/Talia Winters thing.
"Thing"? The first episode has Talia chasing Ivanova all over the Station, and Ivanova wants nothing to do with her. She just has a comment about "other annoying things" which is clearly aimed at Talia. XD They NEVER do this with two women in other shows!! It would have to be a man/woman scene.
(I'm mainly thinking of Buffy here cos they're the only other telly I can think of with a long-term female/female relationship. And Willow/Tara is always sweet and loving, not agro XD XD XD)
It's a shame Talia left the show at the end of the second season; but thank JMS he convieniently forgot about her "gift" (LOTS of hints dropped about it...I'll have to see if he ever explained online what that was all about) and just finally GOT HER INTO SUSAN'S BED! <---- *flashing lights, sirens, etc* WHOO-HOO!!!!!!!!
I. Love. Babylon. 5. ROFL
So right now I've got visions of Susan/Talia fanlistings, mailing lists and shrines dancing before my eyes. *flops over* Ok. Just the fanlisting, then. I'd better see what the rules say. *bops over to the official Fanlistings site*
Sarai-chan, thank yooooou! *_* In any case, I thought you looked very pretty in that most recent photo with Emi-chan. ^__^ It's cool you got some fun Xmas packages. Yeah, from what I've seen Japan on the whole treats Xmas as a purely "gimmicky" deal. It's a shame. Is it Summertime at Christmas for PR like it is in NZ? *swelters in the heat*
Erjika, love, so sorry to hear about your grandmother. That's really harsh. Hang in there, okay? (BTW, Best. Layout. Ever. *luvs Hobbits*)
Oooh, last thing, I also got Read Or Die on DVD yesterday! PIKA!!!! =^.^= Haven't had a chance to see it yet what with running around like a headless chicken over Talia (heh. Try saying that three times fast ~_^). Still, the cover itself is sooooo cuuuuuute; I'm anticipating super cuteness. And how can you go wrong with a title like that? >^.^< PIKA-PI!!

Sarai-chan, I was the same about Sailor Moon when I was about 20. I only started watching the show cos it was the only anime on TV at the time so I thought "why not?" But then, Serena made me laugh (she's a fun ditz) and I got hooked. ^__^ And you say your birthday is only two days out from hers? LOL
Oh that reminds me; there's an American exchange student who comes to use the university library (= my workplace) quite frequently. He looks just like Elijah Wood - big blue eyes, curly hair, etc. 'Cept he's really tall. XD Anyway, I always say "Hi!" when he's at issue or closed reserve or whatever, but internally I'm going "It's Hobbit Guy!" XD Hobbit Guy is always going to be his official name to me.
I've been neglecting my blog as of late, too. *glomps blog* I still check on yours though, Rach, cos I worship you! The next logical question is "why do you worship me?"...heh heh ^_^ Well, for one thing you don't laugh at me for loving K-9...
How much was I madly in love with K-9? I used to talk about him incessantly to friends, to family, or to myself if nobody else was around. My first DW book was 'Doctor Who Special Effects' which had tons of pictures of K-9 and I read the book cover-to-cover & then stared adoringly at the pictures. I used to QUOTE "affirmative, Mistress"...ah, it;s all very sad. *lol* What d'you expect from me when I was 12 years old? ^_~

Hokuto-chan could've told Subaru what she suspected about Seishirou. She didn't. Seishirou could've told Subaru what he really felt/ didn't feel. He never did, he just joked around. Subaru could've realised what he thought of Seishirou earlier and TOLD HIM (as ali-chan once said to me -- what then, if Seishirou knew what Subaru was thinking?). But he was far, far too late.
This brought to you by incessant listening to David Gray songs. "Let go your heart, let go your head...Babylon...Babylon...Babylon"
Erj-chan - awesomeness! *laughs* A comic freak? Okay, that makes it official. I am Vince/Mike. As a comicbook & Doctor Who geek, I totally relate to that character. Oh, wasn't the ending of QaF great, though? "Unrequited love ROCKS". XD
Oh right, she was the Mushroom Princess!! Imagine your Dad being fungus. *lol* I used to enjoy watching my roomie play Super Mario Brothers because he always played with Death Metal music turned right up, & I used to scream out Sailor Moon lyrics and catch-phrases to the Death Metal. heehee "I will punish you, in the name of the MOON *ROAR*" Fun times. ^___^
Having spent the weekend out in the countryside (no cellphone coverage - too remote. Woot!) I'm reminded again how much I love it & how much I'd love to live away from the city. Sure, my hometown is more of a "town" than a "city". You can't go more than three blocks from my house without coming across paddocks, horses, cows, sheep et al. But it's not the same as being in the actual proper countryside. I feel free there - the city has no soul. (exaggerating of course, but give me green hills over concrete any day)
Which leads me neatly into my Tokyo Babylon rave! ^_^ Actually, I took my own advice about Babylon 5 and bought the 2nd DVD box set when it was on special. B5 rarely makes me think of TB, but the episode yesterday had the line "we just need to communicate more" and I was immediately a puddle on the floor (Hokuto-chan noooooo sakura petals waaah, and so forth). The point about TB is that it does the Babel theme so well. At the end, the trio have all ceased to be able to see(eyes! eyes!)/hear/touch each other (note that Subaru only sees his twin sister's death in a dream) - and it destroys them.
My other theory about TB is that Hokuto and Seishirou are really aspects of Subaru himself, one kills the other (Hokuto dying is Subaru's symbolic death as she is his twin and wearing his robes) & then it all leads to Subaru becoming Seishirou/Sakurazukamori.
(Y'all know what this really means, don't you. The person who is special to Subaru & who Subaru loves most is himself. XD Kamui and Sei-chan never had a chance. XD)
So anyway, I'm still happy about Doctor Who coming back in 2005. I wish they'd bring back Paul McGann. And Richard E Grant looks like an excelent animated Doctor so they should definitely consider him. It's going to be written by Russell T Davies (who wrote Queer as Folk...anyone wondering why K-9 was featured in an episode, and why the ending has the listing of all the Doctor's names repated over & over; now you know why ^___^).
I must be the only fangirl to have watched QaF for K-9. ^_^;;; *was madly in love with K-9 when she was 12* I was sitting there watching the boys kissing and going "when does K-9 show up?" (yeah, I only bothered to watch that one episode and also the ending episode just to see if K-9 would be there again how it all finished up XD).
Speaking of...Erj-chaaaaaan if they don't have K-9 in the US QaF (haven't seen it because we're damn colonials in New Zealand dammit, British version only, God Save the Queen, tally-ho, pip-pip, what-what^^;;;) who do they have? Please tell me it's not R2D2. @_@
*glomps Sarai* So, you want to have two Italian plumbers come fix your fungus problem? LOL
Okay, got to go hang out the washing. (exciting, ne? ^_~) *exits*

I got a LJ! Woot and such. :) Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, it made me very sparkley.
Don’t worry, Sarai-chan, I have no intentions of giving up my blog. (and sympathies for the fungus problem. In one of the houses I used to live, we had several colonies of different-coloured mould all over the bathroom and ceilings)
Rachel, I am so dumb cos I can’t figure out what your new blog’s name is.<_<;;; (cute moving-page pic, BTW ^____^)
Well, I'm way late for my bi-monthly Tokyo Babylon rave and my bi-monthly catch-up with Lika-chan, but Dad and I are going into the Wilds this weekend…so I’ll see you all in a couple of days. TTFN

Distinguishing feature: Peculiar sense of humour =^.^=
Other Features: Likes to draw. Tendancy towards hyperness, shyness, genkiness, tardiness & procrastination. Far-reaching obsession with Saiki-dono. Looks like a Hobbit.
